UAE waives overstay fines for Iranian visitors, residents amid conflict

Iranians will be waived from overstay fines imposed on them, whether they are residents or coming to the country under an entry visa of any kind.

The decision was taken under the directives of President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security’s decision comes “in response to the exceptional circumstances that the region is witnessing and to provide relief to this group of people who were unable to return to their homeland, due to the closure of airspace and the suspension of flights”, it said.
